Summer of Fishing 2024

August 2024

Well, third time lucky as they say, the sun pierced the sky for our third "Get Fishing" event ran by the Angling Trust. We are just a small pond so numbers are quite limited and we had to disappoint many who wanted to attend this event today, apologies. The word really has got out about these and our club. There are many other fabulous clubs that hold these sessions all over the UK, please do visit the Angling Trust website and check these out. Once again, thank you to Mr Dave Munt from the Angling Trust and Mr Steve Withy from Hartlepool and District Angling Club who run these events and provide superb coaching on the day, without womb this just would not happen.

Some superb fish were caught with the highlight of a number of Crucian being seen for the first time since introduction. Imagine, one of your first fish that you ever catch being a Crucian? Well, it happened for a couple of very lucky youngsters today. Tench were not as prolific, but there were many Bream, Rudd and a cracking 2lb+ Roach caught.

Apologies I note that I have not photographed all groups in our event today, but I am sure you enjoyed regardless. Thanks you all for attending.

I hope a fire has been lit for these who attended today. I hope they go on to learn more about their quarry, their surroundings and the wildlife that surrounds all of our ponds, lakes, rivers and indeed seas, but most of all, they just enjoy!.
